General Explanation of Job Functions and Organizational Relationships

Reporting to the VP Global Procurement, lead the Asian Procurement Team, including direct responsibility for the expansion of the Asian supply base and coordination with the China Purchasing Organization.

Identify and qualify Asian suppliers in support of the worldwide EnerSy procurement strategy. Manage Asian supply base to ensure cost effective, high quality, on-time deliveries.

Principal Duties

1.Responsible for product sourcing, supplier selection, qualification and price negotiations for defined commodities, capital equipment and maintenance, repair and operating (MRO) items from Asian sources for EnerSy facilities worldwide.
2.Analyze Asian market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and pricing for defined commodities.
3.Identify projects that will result in EnerSy obtaining the best quality, reliability, pricing and delivery from suppliers. These projects may result from material or supplier changes, process improvements, etc.
4.Proactively communicate status of improvement projects to the worldwide Procurement team.
5.Responsible for monthly activities to include, but not limited to, preparation of monthly reports and analysis of monthly purchase price variances.

Qualifications

1.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Materials Management or Purchasing. Seven to ten years business related experience.
2.Strong organizational skills, planning and analytical talents. Demonstrated management experience.
3.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be fluent in speaking and writing Mandarin and English.
4.Individual should be a highly motivated, self-starter who is committed to professional standard and performance.
5.Excellent computer skills to include working knowledge of word processing and spreadheet applications.
6.Must be willing and able to travel 25% of the time.
7.Work experience within a multinational company is required.
8.Position will be located in Shenzhen, China.
