READING, Pennsylvania, April 22, 2018 – EnerSys® (NYSE:ENS), the global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications, will exhibit its new high-performance PowerSafe® ESG battery as well as its other innovative energy solutions at the DistribuTECH Conference & Exhibition in booth no. 1201. The DistribuTECH Conference & Exhibition, the utility industry’s largest conference and exhibition, will be held January 23-25, 2018 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, San Antonio, Texas.
The EnerSys booth will showcase an array of electric utility and switchgear solutions, from back-up power for remote substations to full utility-scale capacity optimization systems. Along with the PowerSafe® ESG battery, EnerSys will highlight VaultFlex™ outdoor enclosures, single-tier flooded racks and energy storage solutions for peak load curtailment.
“We are excited to introduce the PowerSafe® ESG battery at this year’s DistribuTECH,” said George Brendahl, utility marketing manager at EnerSys. “The PowerSafe® ESG battery is engineered with proprietary materials and design features to deliver the performance and service life that various utility operations need. The PowerSafe® ESG battery is the latest addition to our growing selection of stored energy solutions for the utility industry.”
PowerSafe® ESG batteries provide 187-960 amp-hours (Ah) of capacity range to handle the challenging load profiles and service conditions of utility applications. The capacity range of 187-960 Ah is rated at eight hours to 1.75 volts per cell (Vpc) at 77°F (25°C). Initial capacity is rated at 100 percent.
EnerSys will also exhibit:
VaultFlex™ outdoor enclosure: A modular, thermally managed outdoor enclosure that features a selection of heating and cooling options to maintain the proper operating temperature for backup battery systems in the most extreme environments. Designed to provide protection from weather and other outdoor conditions, VaultFlex™ outdoor enclosures help to extend the life, reduce maintenance and require less frequent replacement of the batteries.
Flooded battery rack: Built exclusively for EnerSys® standby power batteries, standard and seismic racks are available, including cell-restraint equipment to provide shock protection for standard racks. Seismic racks meet Uniform Building Code (UBC) or Bellcore Network Equipment-Building System (NEBS™) requirements. The flooded battery racks also are available as IEEE 693 racks, which meet the seismic requirements for substations. All shock-protected and seismic racks include anti-static foam spacers and cell clamps to minimize cell damage from an earthquake.
